Side Panels
Elegant side panels that expertly tie the room together
Window side panels and drapery in the GTA
Our team is excited to find you the perfect fabric and style for your window treatment. A simple and elegant top treatment can add a bit of colour to a room that would otherwise be plain, or a full dramatic set of curtains can become the centrepiece of any room.
Our designers are professionals at listening to their clients and making sure they are getting exactly what is best for their homes.
Side panels, otherwise known as stationary panels, are a simple and affordable design solution that is soft on your wallet and an easy way to get gorgeous fabrics into your home.
Our window treatments will change any space, instantly. They insulate, add privacy, and create the visual illusion of making a space look larger. Stationary curtain panels are curtains that stay still, wont move around, and protect your furnishings from the sun all day long
Optical illusions
We’d love to help you create magic with fabric! Do you have oddly-shaped or narrow windows? Then stationary side panels hung wider than your windows will create the optical illusion of height and width. Your guests will be impressed when they see your brand new installation.
What are window side panels?
Side panels are exactly as they sound. A side panel is professionally displayed on the side of whatever window you are currently accessing. Standard or decorative stationary rod lengths should equal one-third of the total window glass width. Install them anywhere from just 2” above the top of the window frame to 2” below the bottom of your ceiling moulding. Hanging them higher will make the ceiling appear taller. Side panels are purely decorative, meaning they are not meant to open and close. Typically, side drapery panels are hung on each side of a window, but can also be hung between multiple windows on a wall.
How to choose between full curtains or window side panels
Curtains are customised fabric sheets that are designed to cover the entire length of a window. They are adjustable and can open in different ways. You can find drapes in many styles including: crown pleat drapes, pinch pleat drapes, inverted pleat drapes, rod pocket drapes, and more. Whereas side panels are stationary window treatments often on the sides of your window. Side panels are most commonly 20” or 40” wide.
Full curtains can close completely across your windows and also open with each bunch of pleats on the sides of the window. Your side panels will stay in place, neatly stacked to the sides of the window.
Full curtains
If you’re not sure what to choose, full curtains are a versatile option. When your windows need to be fully closed, we recommend installing a full curtain window treatment in your home.
Side panels
Side panels, also known as stationery panels, will stay in place. These work best for homeowners who want to frame their window and add depth and style without movement. There are many options when customising your side panels. Typically the fabric is light and sheer to let light through.
